Conforming to society is either the biggest challenge of a persons life or the ultimate sacrifice. Before we have families we are more inclined to embrace our uniqueness and youthful capabilities, as we mature and “settle down” (the sacrifice) we tend to mold into societies beliefs and responsible structured systems.
How can we teach and remember to enhance natural skills and talents when we by the time the children reach teen pressures are completely wrapped up in how things ought to be in the acceptable society rather than embracing the natural course of life.
Probably the biggest challenge then is to remember that life is made up of moments chasing a perfect end instead of trying to control that it happen in a certain way which is rigid and quite frankly depressing.
I have learnt though not to doubt the absolute necessity of law and order within any given society. If we were all free to think and carry on in a disorderly way we would never give eachother the time for understanding and ultimate learning from one another. Relationships would be crushed by uncertainty and dishonor.
So I think I am trying to say… congratulations conformatism … you win! although not without regret.
